X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE [2009]

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Stryker: You boys tired of running? Tired of denying your true nature?
Victor: What do you care?
Stryker: Oh, I care.
I care because I know how special you are. How valuable.
Look, you can stay here locked up like freaks of nature, or you can join me.
I'm putting together a special team with special privileges.
Now tell me, how would you like to really serve your country?

Stryker, to Logan: My God, haven't aged a day.
Logan: Clean living.
Stryker: You remember Agent Zero?
Logan: Still shooting first, asking question later?
[Zero shoots Logan's cigar as flash speed]
Zero: You still chewing on cheap cigars?
Stryker: Boys, please... [to Logan] I have a job for you.
Logan: I already have a job.
Zero: Lumberjack? 18 grand a year?
Logan: 18,5.
Plus, I haven't had to kill anyone in a while.
Zero: Starting to miss it?
Logan: Right about now I am.

Logan: Stryker came by today.
Don't worry, I said no.
Kayla: Why is he bothering you after all these years?
Logan: Because I'm the best there is at what I do,
but what I do best isn't very nice.
Kayla: You're not an animal, Logan.
What you have is a gift.
Logan: A gift... You can return a gift.

Kayla: Why is the moon so lonely?
Logan: Why?
Kayla: Because she used to have a lover.
Logan: Oh, you tell this to the kids?
Kayla: No.
His name was Kuekuatsheu and they lived in The Spirit World together.
Logan: Oh, this is a true story? All right...
Kayla: And every night they would wander the skies together.
But one of the other spirit was jealous.
Trickster wanted the moon for himself, so he told Kuekuatsheu that the moon has asked for flowers.
He told him to come to our world and pick her some wild roses.
But Kuekuatsheu didn't know that once you leave The Spirit World, you can never go back.
And every night he looks up in the sky and sees the moon and howls her name.
But, he can never touch her again.
Logan: Wow... koo-koo-ka-choo got screwed.
Kayla: Kuekuatsheu. [Logan laughing] It means The Wolverine.

Victor: When are you gonna figure it out? We're not like them.
Logan: I am nothing like you.
Victor: Sure you are. You just don't know it yet.

Stryker: You can't beat him, Logan, you know you can't!
Logan: I'm gonna find him and kill him!
Stryker: I can give you the tools to defeat him.
And we can still save the others.
Logan: You mean save yourself, right?
Stryker: I promise you 2 things.
You will suffer more pain than any other man can endure, but you'll have your revenge.
Logan: I come with you, I'm coming for blood.
No law, no code of conduct.
You point me in the right direction, you get the hell out of my way.

Stryker: You remember what we were looking for in Africa?
Logan: I remember.
Stryker: Well, I found it.
It helped us create a metal compound so strong that you will be able to withstand virtually anything.
It's called Adamantium

I can't put Victor down myself, Logan.
To kill him, you're gonna have to embrace the other side.
Become the animal.
~Stryker

Stryker: I almost forgot. [showing him his old dogtags]
Logan: I want new ones.
Stryker: What do you want them to say?
Logan: Wolverine.

Logan: What the island?
Fred Duke: It's where Stryker takes them after Victor's caught them.
Logan: Wait, hang on a minute. Takes who?
Fred Duke: Mutants.
Rumor is that Stryker's doing experiments on them there.
I mean, you never wondered what happened to them?
John Wraith: I tried not to.

They killed her so I'd let them put Adamantium in me.
They killed her for a goddamn experiment!
~Logan

John Wraith: What's Stryker up to, Fred? What's the endgame?
Fred Dukes: He's taking their powers, trying to combine them somehow.

Stryker: Don't be angry with her. She's a real credit to our species.
Did you know that her sister has diamond-hard skin?
Kayla's mutation is tactohypnosis.
She can influence people as long as she touches them.
Quite a useful tools in a seduction.
It was never real, my friend.
Logan: It was real for me.

I told you, if you came down this road, you wouldn't like what you found.
~Stryker

That story you told me about a man who gets flowers for the moon,
I had it backwards.
I thought you were the moon and I was your wolverine.
But you're the trickster, aren't you?
I'm just the fool who got played.
The worst part of it, I should've known.
But I ignored my instincts.
I ignored what I really am.
~Logan

Logan: This doesn't change anything between us, Victor. We're done!
Victor: We can never be done, Jimmy, we're brothers.
And brothers look out for each other.

I should make you pull the trigger.
But that would make us no better than you.
~Kayla, to Stryker

IRON MAN [2008]

Iron Man
Heroes Aren't Born. They're Built.
Tony Stark.
Visionary.
Genius.
American patriot.
Even from an early age, the son of legendary weapons developer Howard Stark quickly stole the spotlight with his brilliant and unique mind.
At age 4, he built his first circuit board.
At age 6, his first engine.
And at 17, he graduated summa cum laude from MIT.
Then, the passing of the titan.
Howard Stark's lifelong friend and ally, Obadiah Stane,
steps in to help fill the gap left by the legendary founder,
until at age 21, the prodigal son returns and is annointed the new CEO of Stark Industries.
With the keys to the kingdom, Tony ushers in a new era for his father's legacy,
creating smarter weapons, advanced robotics, satellite targeting.
Today, Tony Stark has changed the face of the weapon industry by ensuring freedom and protecting America and her interests around the globe.
~Announcer

Jarvis, after Christine try to dial it: You are not authorized to access this area.
Christine: Jesus!
Pepper: That's Jarvis.
He runs the house.
I've got your clothes here.
They've been dry-cleaned and pressed,
and there's a car waiting for you outside that will take you anywhere you'd like to go.
Christine: You must be the famous Pepper Potts.
Pepper: Indeed I am.
Christine: After all this time, Tony still has you picking up the dry-cleaning.
Pepper: I do anything and everything that Mr. Stark requires,
including occasionally taking out the trash.
Will that be all?

Is it better to be feared or respected?
I say, is it too much to ask for both?
With that in mind, I humbly present the crown jewel of Stark Industries' Freedom Line.
It's the first missile system to incorporate our proprietary repulsor technology.
They say the best weapon is one you never have to fire.
I respectfully disagree.
I prefer the weapon you only have to be fire once.
That's how Dad did it, that's how America does it, and it's worked out pretty well so far.
Find an excuse to let one of these off the chain and I personally guarantee you,
the bad guys won't even want to come out of their caves.
For your consideration, The Jericho.
~Tony Stark

Welcome, Tony Stark, the most famous mass murderer in the history of America.
~Abu Bakaar

Look, what you just saw, that is your legacy, Stark.
Your life's work, in the hands of those murderers.
Is that how you want to go out?
Is this the last act of defiance of the great Tony Stark?
Or are you going to do something about it?
~Yinsen

Tony: Got a family?
Yinsen: Yes, and I will see them when I leave here.
And you, Stark?
Tony: No.
Yinsen: No?
So you're a man who has everything... and nothing.

Phil: I'm Agent Phil Coulson with The Strategic Homeland Intervension, Enforcement and Logistics Division. [handed her a name card]
Pepper: That's quite a mouthful.
Phil: I know. We're working on it.

A man with a dozen of these can rule all of Asia.
And your dream of Stark's throne.
~Raza to Obadiah

Tony: You stood by my side all these years while I reaped the benefits of destruction.
And now that I'm trying to protect the people that I put in harm's way,
you're going to walk out?
Pepper: You're gonna kill yourself, Tony.
I'm not going to be a part of it.
Tony: I shouldn't be alive unless it was for a reason.
I'm not crazy, Pepper.
I just finally know what I have to do.
And I know in my heart that it's right.

Analyst: That's what we're trying to do, but honestly, it's impossible.
Obadiah: Tony Stark was able to build this in a cave!
With a box of scraps!
Analyst: Well I'm sorry, I'm not Tony Stark.

You know, if I were Iron Man, I'd have this girlfriend who knew my true identity.
She'd be a wreck cause she'd always be worrying that I was going to die,
yet so proud of the man I'd become.
She'd be wildly conflicted which would only make her more crazy about me.
~Tony, to Pepper

"I am Iron Man"
You think you're the only superhero in the world?
Mr Stark, you've become part of a bigger universe.
You just don't know it yet.
~Nick Fury

THE PUNISHER [2004]

This Is Not Revenge.
It's Punishment!
[Frank Castle]: It's been five months since my family was killed.
I don't see ONE man in jail.
[Police Chief Morris]: Obviously you're upset...
[Frank Castle]: Upset? Is that the word?
I used to get upset.
When I got a flat tire, when a plane was delayed.
I used to get 'upset' when the Yankees won the series.
So if that's what upset means, what am I feeling now?
If you know the word, tell me because I don't.

[Joan]: I know what it's like.
I know what it's like to make your memories go away.
You can make new memories; good ones.
Good memories can save your life.
[The Punisher]: I'm not what you're lookin' for.

[singing] I can hear what you're thinking.
All your doubts and fears.
And if you look in my eyes, in time you'll find the reason I'm here.
And in time, all things shall pass away.
In time, you may come back some day, to live once more or die once more.
In time, your time will be no more
...
Like that song? I wrote that for you. I'm gonna sing it at your funeral.
[Harry Heck]

You were right. Good memories can save your life.
[Frank Castle]

I leave this as a declaration of intent, so no one will be confused.
One: 'Si vis pacem, para bellum.'
Latin.
Boot Camp Sergeant made us recite it like a prayer.
'Si vis pacem, para bellum - If you want peace, prepare for war.'
Two: Frank Castle is dead.
He died with his family.
Three: in certain extreme situations, the law is inadequate.
In order to shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law.
To pursue... natural justice.
This is not vengeance.
Revenge is not a valid motive, it's an emotional response.
No, not vengeance.
Punishment.
[The Punisher]

X2: X-MEN UNITED [2003]

The Time Has Come For Those Who Are Different To Stand United

Mutants.
Since the discovery of their existence they have been regarded with fear, suspicion, often hatred.
Across the planet, debate rages.
Are mutants the next link in the evolutionary chain, or simply a new species of humanity,
fighting for their share of the world?
Either way, it is an historical fact, sharing the world has never been humanity's defining attribute.
~Professor X

Scott: It's not just a headache, is it?
Listen, I wasn't really sure how to say this, but ever since Liberty Island, you've been...
Jean Grey: Scott...
Scott: You've been different.
Jean Grey: My telepathy's been off lately.
I can't seem to focus. I can hear everything.
Scott: It's not just your telepathy.
A month ago, you had to concentrate just to levitate a book or a chair across the room.
Now, when you have a nightmare, the entire bedroom shakes.
Jean Grey: My dream are getting worse.
I keep feeling something terrible is about to happen.
Scott: I would never let anything happen to you.

Stryker: It isn't a petting zoo, Senator.
In this conflict, he is the enemy, you're just a spectator.
So why don't you sit this one out, all right?
Senator Kelly: Conflict?
Mr. Stryker, do you really want to turn this into some kind of war?
Stryker: I was piloting black-ops missions in the jungles of North Vietnam
while you were sucking on your mama's tit at Woodstock, Kelly.
Don't lecture me about war.
This already is a war.

Through Cerebro, I'm connected to them, and they to me.
We're not as alone as you think.
~Professor X

Logan: I need you to read my mind again.
Prof. X: I'm afraid the results will be the same as before.
Logan: We had a deal.
Prof. X: The mind is not a box that can be simply unlocked and opened.
It's a beehive with a million different compartments.
Logan: Spare me the lecture.
Prof. X: I have no doubt that your amnesia, your adamantium skeleton, the claws are all somehow connected.
But, Logan, sometimes the mind needs to discover things for itself.

I didn't realize Xavier was taking in animals, even animals as unique as you.
~William Stryker, to Wolverine

Prof. X: William, you wanted me to cure your son.
But mutation is not a disease.
Stryker: You're lying!
You were more frightened of him than I was.
You know, just 1 year after Jason returned from your school, my wife...
You see, he resented us.
He blamed us for his condition.
So he would toy with our minds, projecting visions and scenarios into our brains.
My wife, in the end, she took a power drill to her left temple in an attempt to bore the images out.
My boy, the great illusionist.

For someone who hates mutants, you certainly keep some strange company.
~Professor Charles Xavier, to William Stryker

Bobby's Dad: You have to understand.
We thought Bobby was going to a school for the gifted.
Rogue: Bobby is gifted.

Nightcrawler: You know, outside of the circus, most people were afraid of me.
But I didn't hate them. I pitied them.
Do you know why?
Because most people will never know anything beyond what they see with their own 2 eyes.
Storm: I gave up on pity a long time ago.
Nightcrawler: Someone so beautiful should not be so angry.
Storm: Sometimes anger can help you survive.
Nightcrawler: So can faith.

Jean Grey: So, who's this Stryker anyway?
Magneto: He's a military scientist.
He spent his whole life trying to solve the mutant problem.

Jean Grey: I love him.
Logan: Do you?
Jean Grey: Girls flirt with the dangerous guy, Logan, they don't take him home.
They marry the good guy.
Logan: I could be the good guy.
Jean Grey: Logan, the good guy sticks around.

Magneto: What's your name?
Pyro: John.
Magneto: What's your real name, John?
Pyro, make some trick with fire: Pyro.
Magneto: Quite a talent you have there, Pyro.
Pyro: I can only manipulate the fire.
I can't create it.
Magneto: You are a god among insects.
Never let anyone tell you different.

The tricky thing about adamantium is that if you ever manage to process its raw, liquid form,
you gotta keep it that way.
Keep it hot.
Because once the metal cools, it's indestructible.
~William Stryker

How does it look from there, Charles?
Still fighting the good fight?
From here, it doesn't look like they're playing by your rules.
Maybe it's time to play by theirs.
~Magneto

If you really knew about your past, what kind of person you were, the work we did together...
People don't change, Wolverine.
You were an animal then, you're an animal now.
I just gave you claws.
~William Stryker

Stryker: You're a survivor, always have been.
Wolverine: I thought I was just an animal... with claws.
If we die, you die.

The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures.
Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of the death, I will fear no evil,
for thou art with me.
~Nightcrawler

 Mutation.
It is the key to our evolution.
It is how we have evolved from a single-celled organism into the dominant species on the planet.
This process is slow, normally taking thousands and thousands of years.
But every few hundred millennia evolution leaps forward.
~Jean Grey
