Morty: Not necessary.

Eventually, it will program itself.

Morty: This item is non-returnable.

Michael: Why would I wanna return something I got for free?

You wanted a universal remote control that remote-controls your universe.

Take a Stand

Logan: Maybe it's time for us to move on.

Scott: Not everybody heals as fast as you, Logan.

No, Professor, they can't cure us.

You wanna know why?

Because there's nothing to cure.

Nothing's wrong with you. Or any of us, for that matter.

Prof. X: Jean Grey is the only class 5 mutant I've ever encountered, her potential limitless.

Her mutation is seated in the unconscious part of her mind and therein lay the danger.

When she was a girl, I created a series of psychic barriers

to isolate her powers from her conscious mind.

And the result is Jean developed a dual personality.

Logan: What?

Prof. X: The conscious Jean, whose powers were always in her control, and the dominant side.

A personality that, in our sessions, came to call itself The Phoenix.

A purely instinctual creature, all desire and joy and rage.

Logan: She knew all this?

Prof. X: It's unclear how much she knew.

Far more critical is whether the woman in front of us is the Jean Grey we know

or The Phoenix furiously struggling to be free.

Logan: She looks peaceful to me.

Prof. X: Because I'm keeping her that way.

I'm trying to restore the psychic blocks and cage the beast again.

Logan: What have you done to her?

Prof. X: You have to understand...

Logan: You're talking about a person's mind.

Prof. X: She has to be controlled.

Logan: Controlled?

Sometimes, when you cage the beast, the beast gets angry.

Prof. X: You have no idea of what she is capable of.

Logan: No, Professor, I had no idea what you were capable of.

We live in an age of darkness.

A world full of fear, hate and intolerance.

But in every age, there are those who fight against it.

Charles Xavier was born to a world divided.

A world he tried to heal.

A mission he never saw accomplished.

It seems the destiny of great man to see their goals unfulfilled.

Charles was more than a leader, more than a teacher.

He was a friend.

When we were afraid, he gave us strength.

Logan: If Magneto gets that cure, we can't stop him.
Beast: Can you estimate how many he has?
Logan: An army. And Jean.
His powers have limits, hers do not.
Bobby: There's only 6 of us, Logan.
Logan: Yeah, we're outnumbered. I'm not gonna lie to you.
But we lost Scott.
We lost the professor.
If we don't fight now, everything they stood for will die with them.
I'm not gonna let that happen.

[Bobby shakes his head]

UNDERWORLD: EVOLUTION [2006]

My God. Brother, what have you done?

8 centuries ago, unknown to humanity,

a blood feud raged between a ruling class of vampires

and a rebellious legion of werewolves known as lycans.

Legend tells that the war began with 2 brothers, the immortal sons of Alexander Corvinus:

Markus, bitten by a bat, became the blood leader of the vampires.

William, bitten by the wolf, became the first and most powerful lycan.

For 6 centuries I was a loyal soldier of the vampire clan.

But I was betrayed.

The war was not as it had seemed.

In one night, the lies that had united our kind had been exposed.

Kraven, our second-in-command, had formed a secret alliance with Lucian, ruler of the werewolf clan,

to overthrow Viktor, our leader.

But Kraven's lust for power and domination had failed.

Viktor was not the savior I had been led to believe.

He had betrayed us all.

Soon the hunt will be on for his killer.

I have but one ally left, Michael, the human descendant of Corvinus.

Neither vampire nor lycan, but a hybrid.

It's only a matter of time before we're found.

Selene: You're not as strong as you might think.
Michael: What?
Selene: Michael, you're unique.
There's never been a hybrid before.
However ambivalent you feel about it, your powers could be limitless.
But you depend on blood.

Tanis: Some history are based on truth, and others on deception.
Viktor was not the first of our kind, as you were led to believe.
He was once human, the ruler of these lands.
Marcus... he's the one.
The source.
The first true vampire.
Selene: So the legend is true.
Tanis: Toward the end of his ruthless life, when the next breath meant more to Viktor than silver or gold,
Marcus came with an offer, a reprieve from sickness and death.
Immortality.
And in return, Viktor was to use his army-turned-immortal to help him.
Selene: To do what?
Tanis: To defeat the very first werewolves, a dangerous and infectious breed,
created by Marcus' own flesh and blood, his twin brother, William.
But these weren't the lycans we know.
Disgusting though your brethren may be, they at least are evolved.
No, these were raging monsters.
Never able to take human form again.
It was only later generations that learned to channel their rage.
And William's appetite for destruction and rampage was insatiable.
He had to be stopped.
And so once Viktor's army was turned, the legions of vampires under his control,
tracked down and destroyed the animals, then captured William and locked him away.
Viktor's prisoner for all time.
Selene: Why let him live?
Tanis: For the very same reason that Viktor never conspired against Marcus, fear.
He was warned that, should Marcus be killed,
all those his bloodline would follow him to the grave.
Selene: So in Viktor's mind, William's death would mean the end for all lycans, his slaves.
Tanis: Yes, a clever deception, but one Viktor was hardly willing to put to the test.
And so Marcus was protected at all costs.

Corvinus: You are no different from Marcus and even less noble than William.
At least he cannot control his savagery.
Selene: Anything I've done can be laid at your feet.
Hundreds of thousands have died because of your inability to accept that your sons are monsters,
that they create monsters.
You could've stopped all of this.

No matter what he's become, he's my son.

Corvinus, cut his vein: Quickly now, before there is no more legacy left in my veins.
Selene: What will I become?
Corvinus: The future.

An unknown chapter lies ahead.
The lines that had divided the clans have now been blurred.
Chaos and infighting are inevitable.
All that is certain is that darkness is still ahead.
But for now, for the first time, I look into the light with new hope.
